Dr. Joe Pojman, President

Dr. Joe Pojman has served as the president of Texans for Life since October 2025. Previously, he was the executive director and founder of Texas Alliance for Life, a role he held for nearly four decades. Recognized as one of the state's premier pro-life leaders, Dr. Pojman is a prominent advocate for pro-life legislation and a frequent commentator in public forums and the media.

Before dedicating his career to advocacy, he worked as an aerospace engineer, including several years at NASA’s Johnson Space Center. He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and earned bachelor's degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Pojman and his wife, Beatriz, reside in Austin, where they attend St. Louis Catholic Church and have raised four children.

Sheree Havlik, Board Member

Sheree Havlik has served on the board of directors for 30 years. She worked as an engineer at Raytheon Corporation for 40 years, leading sustaining and new business development projects, and served as an adjunct professor for Johns Hopkins University.  Sheree volunteered for The Catholic Pro-Life Community as the director of the Speakers Bureau for 25 years. She has represented the Catholic Church's pro-life/pro-family views at international conferences including the United Nations in New York. She has spoken both nationally and internationally. Sheree is also a published author with Ave Maria Press. Sheree’s focus is now on healing survivors of sexual abuse and assault. She started the Dawn of Mercy ministry to do just that.

David Edmonson, Board Member

David Edmonson has been involved with Texans for Life since the late 1990s and has served on the board for multiple decades. He resides in Dallas and has raised one son and four daughters. David started his career in photography at Dallas Seminary, working on nonprofit brochures, magazines, and books. He then expanded his work to include more than 200 ministries and corporations, music groups, and celebrities throughout his career. He attends Grace Bible Church in Dallas.

Casey Burke, Board Member

Casey Burke attended a Texans for Life Coalition Banquet over 20 years ago where the speaker talked about abstinence.  At the strong suggestion of his wife Andrea, he volunteered for the Life Decisions speaker’s bureau of TLC and spent the next ten years going into schools and presenting to students about how their decisions now affect their future lives.  That morphed into an invitation to the Board of Directors, where he has served for over 15 years.  His other ministry efforts include supporting Porch de Salomon in Guatemala, funding and building houses for needy families, sending dental and medical teams and providing scholarships to raise young people out of poverty.

Casey was raised in Florida and attended Florida State University.  He moved to Dallas in 1980 and he and Andrea raised a family of three children.  All of them are married, have moved all over the country and have provided the Burkes with four grandchildren.  Retired for two years, Casey spends as much time as possible visiting those grandchildren, vegetable gardening and playing disc golf.  He and Andrea live in Rockwall, TX and they attend Lakepointe Church.

Paul Borchard, Executive Administrator

Paul Borchard has served as the Executive Administrator for Texans for Life since December 2025 and is currently on the Board of Directors of Ablaze for Life. A lifelong advocate for the unborn, Paul has served in leadership and ministry roles with several national and local pro-life organizations. He previously served as the Executive Director of Greater Columbus Right to Life. Paul spent over a decade as a Staff Sidewalk Counselor for the Catholic Pro-Life Community of the Diocese of Dallas and led multiple 40 Days for Life campaigns. Throughout his career, he has been blessed to witness hundreds of mothers choose life and the closure of several abortion facilities.

Paul holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Catechetics with a minor in Human Life Studies from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Residing on a family farm near McKinney, he and his parents keep honeybees and attend St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
