    10:00 am - 4:00 pm
Cliff Nelson Recreation, 4600 W Bardin Rd, Arlington, TX 76017

  • This training is provided at no cost.  Lunch, snacks and coffee are free of charge as well.  Feel free to consider making a donation to further support efforts and make other trainings possible.

  • All are invited to attend.  We encourage individuals, churches and other groups to learn about the legislative process and be a part of influencing public policy.

  • In the upcoming Legislative session, starting on January 12th, 2027 at 12 noon, many pro-life bills will be introduced that need our support.  Conversely, many bad bill attempting to weaken current state laws in relation to abortion will be introduced.  We need to support the former and defeat the latter.

During these Capitol Trainings, grass-roots citizens will be prepared to engage in the work of the Texas Legislature in Austin.  Attendees will learn to navigate the legislative process, speak with your elected officials and to lobby effectively.    We will also learn about all the bills, the good and the bad, and review all of Texans for Life legislative priority's for the session.

  • The purpose of these trainings is to prepare the individual or group to go to the Capitol in Austin where they can meet with their elected representatives and influence the process.

  • The Texans for Life and Leadership Institute are co-hosting this event.

  • The next regular session of the Texas Legislature (the 90th Legislative Session) convenes on January 12, 2027, and runs for 140 calendar days until May 31, 2027.  The Legislature meets in regular session only once every two years, convening in odd-numbered years.

Approximately 7,000 to 9,000 bills are introduced during a typical regular session, but only a small fraction of introduced bills become law.  For instance, out of the ~8,700+ bills filed in 2025, roughly 1,200 were sent to Governor Abbott.

There is a very short period of time to pass as many pro-life bills as possible.  This is a difficult challenge which is why we are hosting these trainings.

  • Yes!  This training in Arlington is the first in a series of trainings we plan to hold throughout the DFW metroplex and other locations in Texas.  Keep your eyes on our website and join our email list to stay update.
