A Historic Triumph: 2026 Walk for Life Shatters Goals and Continues Legacy

The numbers are in, and we are overjoyed to report that the Texans for Life 2026 Walk for Life was a historic, record-shattering success, more than doubling our goal!

The Walk for Life is a family-friendly, non-athletic, 30-minute walk-a-thon to raise funds to build a culture of life in North Texas and throughout the state. Walks took place at six dedicated walk sites on three Saturdays in June where dozens of  walkers laced up their shoes for life. Others walked on their own.

Shattering Expectations

When planning this year's Walk, our board set what we believed was an ambitious but attainable fundraising target of $30,000. However, the actual amount raised surged to nearly $61,000 — doubling our goal and marking our best results in at least seven years.

"The dedication and generosity of the pro-life community who supported this event has overwhelmed and humbled us," said Dr. Joe Pojman, Texans for Life's president. "Many decades of pro-life experience did not prepare me for these incredible results."

How We Use the Funds

The funds are being used to continue the fight to protect moms and babies from the tragedy of abortion through education and legal defense. While we have strong legal protections in Texas, illegal, dangerous abortion pills are flooding into our state — meaning we are still actively competing for each and every life.

Educating youth and adults continues to be paramount. We focus on teaching the sanctity of life in the womb, highlighting the vast resources available across our state for women with unplanned pregnancies, and sharing the reality that abortion hurts, rather than helps, women and families. Additionally, as our pro-life laws are attacked in the courts, these funds will remain available for filing critical briefs in state or federal courts.

Remembering Kyleen Wright

This year’s walk featured a special dedication to the legacy of Texans for Life’s late past president, Kyleen Wright. We created the Kyleen Wright Memorial with the goal of raising $10,000 in her memory.

Thanks to the overwhelming support of many — including several state legislators, candidates, and staffers who donated generously to show their appreciation for Kyleen and this organization — the actual amount raised reached more than $16,000.

Any walker who received $200 or more in pledges received a commemorative T-shirt. For every $500 in pledges, walkers earned a complimentary seat at our Annual Benefit Dinner on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Westin DFW Hotel in Irving featuring FOX News correspondent Emily Compagno.

All youth walkers received a model of an unborn baby at 12 weeks and a $5 gift card to Chick-fil-A, both of which proved to be very popular.
