NARAL FIGHTS BACK

As the number of young people lining up at abortion clinics continues to drop, a national abortion group is desperately working to bring them back. Posted on their website are "Action Kits" intended to counter what the group sees as dangerous advances on its baby-killing business.

One kit is a step-by-step "Parents' Guide to Achieving Comprehensive Sexuality Education in Your Community's Schools." The goal is to help parents get real sex ed into their local schools, promoting condoms, not abstinence.

Why would abortion providers be concerned about abstinence education? Because it is working! The rate of teenage pregnancy in the United States has dropped to its lowest level in 20 years, according to new figures from the National Center for Disease Control and has been attributed to a leveling off of sexual activity (source: New York Times). Each student who makes the decision to remain abstinent until marriage represents a potential $400 to $1,200 blow to the abortion industry. (For details, go to www.naral.org.)
